Tranquilite Clematis

Description
Such pale flowers can really light up a shaded area—these blooms are phenomenal over a darker backdrop. Tranquilite is compact, which is excellent for smaller gardens. It was bred by Raymond Evison, who focuses his program on clematis for containers. The most important characteristic is that they respond well to pruning back, which gives them that nice, bushy form that looks best in a container. The flowers also bloom closer together, putting all of that gorgeous floral beauty into one dense display. If you chose to pot this variety, you can add annuals around the base of the clematis to keep the roots shaded and the display interesting when the clematis isn't blooming. Include an obelisk or trellis for the vines to climb up, and you'll have a gorgeous multi–level container garden. We also love Tranquilite cascading over the side of a window box or crawling through a perennial bed. Clematis 'Evipo0111' TRANQUILITE

Tranquilite Clematis is in the YELLOW pruning category. It blooms best on old wood, but it can also bloom on new wood. Use caution when pruning to retain healthy stems from last season for best flowering. See our Stoplight Pruning Guide for more information.
