Developed by Dr. Donald Egolf at the U.S. National Arboretum, this small tree, just 8-10' tall, is hardy, disease resistant and quite ornamental with large, deep pink-red bloom panicles in mid to late summer and colorful exfoliating bark. Ideal size for small gardens, corner spots – even containers. Plant in full sun to partial shade and provide regular watering during the first growing season. Deer tend to avoid.
