Tom Knudson Camellia

Description
We simply adore this compact camellia variety. From its dazzling dark red, formal blooms to its waxy, evergreen foliage, this one's a real winner. Like its contemporaries, Tom Knudsen prefers protected, lightly shady sites where its abundant blooms can flourish without fear of sun scald and wind burn in the winter months. And thanks to its size, it makes a wonderful foundation shrub or flowering hedge. Planted in a dappled border or woodland garden, it fills the area with fragrance and color during a time when little else is blooming. Perfect for fresh floral arrangements, too. Easy to grow and maintain, camellias boast a long bloom time and need only well-drained soil to thrive. Camellia japonica 'Tom Knudsen'
