Ruby Heart Hens & Chicks

Description
The coloring is unique, red hues towards the heart bringing dimension to this little succulent. That pattern is beautiful when you've got multiple Ruby Heart plants or providing contrast against other Hens & Chicks in a mixed planting. Ruby Heart's coloring only gets more exciting as the seasons change. In midsummer, little pinkish-purple star-shaped blooms appear, and then once the weather cools, the foliage colors intensify. It's also quite winter hardy, thriving up to zone 3. If it's in a container, remember that the roots aren't as insulated as they are in the garden soil—you'll want to bring it into a garage through winter. Or bring it inside to enjoy as a houseplant.
