Description
Multiflowering, bright red flowers make a dramatic statement! Strap-shaped green foliage disappears in July in preparation for the flower spike bursting forth in August. Grow in cool greenhouses or outdoors in warmer areas where little or no frost is experienced. Apply winter cover in zones lower than 7.

  • Unique CharactersticsIn fall when all summer color has disappeared the sub-tropical attention-getter suddenly emerges. On leave less stems, a cluster of showy red flowers appear. The narrow petals are curved backwards. The long anthers make it look like a spider, where it gets its name from. The size of the whole cluster is 8''. This flower is also called the Hurricane Lily, because it blooms in the midst of the hurricane season. In summer the plant is dormant, so there is nothing that announces this spectacular flower. They will return year after year and producing new bulbs. Divide the bulb cluster every few years.

For trees and other oversize items, we do not ship to PO boxes and it will be delivered via FedEx Home delivery.
