Joan J Raspberry

Edible plants or "food-scaping" is all the rage, but you may never have imagined how easy it can be to farm in your pajamas. One of the many joys of imaginative gardening (and living well) is picking your own fresh fruit and herbs from a patio container. Self-pollinating with a high berry yield, Joan J Raspberry is perfect for this use as her thornless compact habit produces full size berries from manageable canes – from mid-summer even through fall. Joan J is a thornless variety that produces firm red berries that release easily, making picking a breeze. With these, you can simply reach over for fresh berries on your cereal. The fruits hold well and are excellent for freezing, but you'll likely enjoy them fresh from the plant. No room on the terrace? No worries, any garden location with full to partial sun and good drainage will reward you with just as many sweet fruits. Rubus idaeus 'Joan J' PP18954
