Hyperion Daylily

You may have found the Hyperion daylily in your Grandmothers garden – it has been a beloved best seller for years. This extremely hardy perennial daylily is an easy to grow, minimal maintenance, prolific bloomer. Flowers last well into the evening—longer than 16 hours! This is especially meaningful to the working gardener, who get to enjoy their garden primarily in the evening – when many daylilies have begun to close. This popular standard delivers a sense of nostalgia to the landscape with its upright, sweet-smelling flowers—trumpet shaped blooms repeat for a continuous show all season long. Their dense, clumping habit is perfect for slopes, mass plantings, borders and garden beds. Long, grasslike leaves host tall stems with 5" lemon yellow blooms. An outstanding garden performer, no dividing is normally required for several years, but once established you'll have plenty to share – just like your Grandmother did. Remove old foliage in late fall and trim back spent flower stems. Hemerocallis 'Hyperion'
