Seven Sons Flower

Description
This is a harder cultivar to find in the industry, certainly not one you could pick up at a garden center, and we were very pleased to get our hands on a supply. This large shrub—or small tree, depending on your pruning—is native to Asia. It has nice bushy leaf cover through the summer, and in fall it'll produce lovely flowers. After the petals drop, the surrounding sepals turn pink, then darken to a rosy hue, which looks like a second show of flowers. Simply gorgeous. You'll also see unusual, showy fruit… Even in winter, after all the fruit and flowers and sepals and leaves are gone, you'll still get to enjoy the beautiful exfoliating bark. Heptacodium miconioides
