Little Mermaid Clematis

Description
An extravagant abundance of nicely rounded, 4–5" flowers open deep salmon and lighten to a delightful coral pink, often with a touch of purple in the center. The unusual color draws attention very easily in the garden. Little Mermaid Clematis blooms first in late spring to early summer and again in late summer on new wood—especially if trimmed after the first bloom. It thrives best with humusy, well–drained soil with a heavy mulch. Prune the medium–size 7–9' vine down to 10–12" in late winter. Gorgeous when trained up a trellis. Clematis 'Little Mermaid'

Little Mermaid Clematis is in the YELLOW pruning category. It blooms best on old wood, but it can also bloom on new wood. Use caution when pruning to retain healthy stems from last season for best flowering. See our Stoplight Pruning Guide for more information.
