Carnaby Clematis

Description

Though this vining beauty climbs up to 10' tall, the relatively short internodes and closeness of the blooms make it a charming addition to sturdy pots and container gardens. Lovely 6" flowers of bubble-gum pink bear dark pink bars and appear either singly or in clusters of three on robust vines in early summer. A second flush of blooms brightens the area in late summer. Compact plants are hardy and floriferous, making them an ideal variety for creating a privacy screen. For the most vibrant color, consider a north- or east-facing wall. Flowers grow on new, current year's growth. Prune back in early spring. Prefers full sun, but a little shade is best in hot, sunny climates. Deer resistant. Zones 4-10. Ships in 3" pot. Clematis 'Carnaby'

Whether you choose large-flowered or small-flowered, single or double varieties, clematis blossoms are striking in form and attention-grabbing in color.
