As free flowing and rapturous as a melody, Clematis Rhapsody will capture your heart and imagination. This later-flowering, large-blooming Clematis is beloved by collectors for its coloring and performance, and, just like every other hybridization by grower Barry Fretwell, Rhapsody is a true winner in the garden. Flowers in the velvety purple of the early night sky are offset by a lighter midrib and cream-colored centers. You'll adore this sapphire purple, which lightens a bit as the flowers mature. Rhapsody is a compact Clematis, and performs well as a densely-flowered climber. Use this Clematis on an obelisk, or let it accompany a larger vine on a trellis or evergreen. Clematis 'Rhapsody'

In our EZ Pruning Guide, this variety is in the YELLOW pruning category. It blooms best on old vine. Use caution when pruning to retain healthy stems from last season for best flowering.
